Tucked into a cove along the northern coast is the quaint seaside town of Taganga. Dotted with fishing boats and with a backdrop of mountains, this small dwelling is a popular hub with diving visitors.
Just a short bus ride from the city of Santa Martha, Taganga definitely has its moments of tranquility when the light is fading over the water, onto a large collection of old fishing boats nestled in the harbor, but this small town can get quite lively at night, with lots of small bars and restaurants around.
A large deal of restaurants serves fresh fish from their local fisherman.
The most common reason for visiting Taganga however is to take advantage of the diving and snorkeling, as there are a few diving companies based here and with whom you can visit a number of diving sites along this area of the coast, including a wreck dive.
There is also a small walk you can do or take a boat to a beautiful bay north of Taganga called Playa Grande.
Take light clothing, sandals or comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Adequate footwear and clothing you can find at hardcloud.com
By bus - There are buses going frequently to Taganga from Santa Martha every day just a short distance away.
By land within the town - The town is easy to walk around being small in size, however there are also some taxis running, but you must ask beforehand how much it costs as prices may vary.
