Shop till you drop in Colombia!

With thriving Metropolis and historic cities, fashion conscious nationals and an abundance of diverse arts and crafts, there is plenty available for avid shoppers here in Colombia!

Shopping bliss in Bogota!

The metropolis of Bogota has a number of great shopping zones, and malls, where you can find international brands, top fashion stores, designers and national arts and crafts.

Some great areas to go shopping are areas like the Zona T, a large European style zone which has 3 large shopping malls, Andino, Altantis and El Retiro.

The malls are surrounded with leafy pedestrian pathways which are lined with a large range of fantastic and stylish restaurants and bars to relax in, during or after a day of shopping.

In the Parque 93, a number of offices and great cafes, restaurants, and bars surround a centered park with trees and lots of cleanly cut grass to sit on, from here you can see the city’s mountains in the background.

The park is also a great location to wander around, as its surrounding areas have art galleries, and an array of great shops.

Another couple of shopping havens located in Bogota are the large shopping malls Santa Fe and Unicentro, where you can find every type of shop you could possibly need, as well as cinemas and food halls.

Corferias, a large expo area, has monthly fairs and expositions where you can occasionally find a curious and interesting range of arts, crafts, electronic, books, clothes, shoes and accessories depending on what the fairs theme is!

Chasing trends in Medellin

The fashion centre of Colombia however is the city of Medellin, whom host the famous Colombiamoda fashion fair, which bring in national and international crowds year round.

Medellin excel especially in textiles and clothing manufacturing and there are a number of great stores to check out in some of their top notch malls such as the El Tesoro shopping mall complete with palm trees, water fountains and even a small train that runs around the grounds.

The Centro Commercial Palacio Nacional is located in the historic building of the old National Palace and is a beautiful mall to stroll around in whilst doing your shopping.

The San Diego mall has more than 300 shops to explore and the Oviedo shopping centers also offer an array of shops, cinemas and food halls to enjoy.

Being an artistic city (home to the countries famous artist Fernando Botero), you can find a number of art galleries and craft shops to encounter during your stay.

International inspiration in Cartagena

The old walled city of Cartagena has an enchanting atmosphere to stroll around in and look in the number of incredible shops that are located on every street.

From jewelry, Caribbean wear, boutiques, forward fashions and ethnic arts and crafts, shopping is truly enjoyable in the hot weather and around the pastel-colored colonial buildings of this particular zone.

Over in the modern sector of Bocagrande, you can find plenty of shops selling electronics, clothes and accessories.

Enjoy shopping around Colombia’s Metropolis Cities – however, Colombia’s towns and villages will also be great spots for picking up unique arts, crafts and clothes, so don’t forget to stroll around the streets to see what kind of deals you can find!
