Flowing rivers, blue oceans and tranquil lakes, lets go fishing !

Colombia’s magnificent rivers, lakes, and oceans contain plentitudes of fish and sea life, giving great salt and fresh water fishing opportunities during your stay in our beautiful country!

From the depths of the ocean to engaging rivers and still lakes, you can find some great opportunities to catch some delicious fish!

In the jungle ridden shores of the pacific coast in Choco, you can join the friendly locals in their fishing canoes and boats, and set out for an incredible days fishing, for amateur fishermen or experienced, these abundant shorelines have large schools of fish, such as Marlin, Tuna, Snapper, Sailfish and Highfish Amberjacks. Take home your catch and eat it with some coconut rice and fresh exotic fruit!

On the Caribbean coast, there are number of great places to go fishing, to catch Broadbill, Tuna, Wahoo, Marlin, Barracuda and Sailfish. Fishing trips leave from Cartagena, Santa Marta and the small fishing village of Taganga, where you can join the locals and explore the rugged coastline in search for some incredible catches!

Some of Colombia’s beautiful rivers and lakes produce good sized trout, and some of the best rivers to fish on is the Rio Tomo, where you can catch trophy class Peacock Bass as well as on Rio Bita, where you can also find large scale Catfish, Saber Tooth Payara and different types of Pavon.

In the Amazon, wind up the extensive flowing rivers and embark on exciting fishing trips which bring plenty of fresh water fish such as snapping piranhas that are Barbequed whole and served with delicious local food, like fried platano, rice, herbs and fresh fruit.
